Robert S. King | Licensed Massage Therapist

I graduated with Academic Honors in 2012 from The Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in Pinellas Park, FL. While there, I participated in all volunteer events and became an ambassador for incoming classes during my year of studies and post-graduation. Immediately after graduation, I enrolled in a one year program to learn Structural Energetic Therapy® with Don McCann. This course of study transformed my focus of massage to become an LMT understanding Cranio-Somatic and Structural Integration. I was then mentored for two years while learning acupressure, Touch for Health, Pre and Post Scar therapy, and Applied Kinesiology. I returned to Cortiva in 2014 to become a faculty member for two years, leading classes in Clinical Integration, a capstone class focusing on the integration of all studies during the previous semesters, preparing seniors to understand how to create treatment plans from all of their many modalities learned during their training.

Massage and bodywork have been my study since 1977 as I remain focused on healing both the outer and inner needs of the guests with whom I work. My passion continues to embody a practice which utilizes a precise understanding of anatomy, the personal needs of my guests and a deep commitment to understanding the energetic forces that reinforce and support overall healing. I offer a gentle method of deep tissue bodywork, which enhances optimal movement and balance through structural integration of skeletal and muscular systems. Numerous years of training in this profession have allowed me to earn certification including:

  • Structural Energetic Therapy®
  • Myofascial Release
  • Myoskeletal Alignment Technique
  • Manual Lymphatic Release (Vodder Technique)
  • Neuromuscular Therapy
  • Pre/Post Surgery Scar Release
  • Applied Kinesiolog
  • Touch for Health Technique
  • Trigger Point
  • Hot/Cold Stone Therapy

  • I have been getting massages here for a decent amount of time. I have liver disease and on occasion my ascites (fluid retention) flares up and I swell up from my waist down and my abdomen. I typically get the Special Blend with Robert, but about 1 week ago I decided to try the Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage with him. I had gained 30lbs. in 2.5 weeks from my ascites and was in discomfort all the time. Almost 12hrs. to the minute after receiving the MLD massage I was 5lbs. lighter and my swelling went down drastically. I highly recommend any one with liver/kidney issues or just fluid retention to have this massage done. Robert listened to me when I spoke about my symptoms and always answers my questions thoroughly. I feel much so much better than I pre-LMD massage. I will be getting a 60min. MLD massage weekly from now on to help keep my lymphatic system working properly, especially because it is over worked. Again, I highly recommend you at least try it once. I'm sure you will be very pleased with Robert's work.

  • When my pain was nearly unbearable, Robert provided much needed relief. He has done the same for a family member of mine who was experiencing extreme total body pain. I recommend him as a caring, accomplished and effective health professional.
